Mi Box 4K Netflix

by alexdb88

My Netflix app refuses to show 4K content on my Mi Box. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

I don't have this problem with YouTube...

Yes I have a 4K TV and yes I pay for 4K Netflix.

Edit: When I plug my Mi Box directly in to my TV, 4K content comes up, but if I plug it in to my home theater system (which is 4K-ready), no 4K content. I would be okay with plugging into the TV except that my TV only passes through 2.0 PCM audio.

Edit 2: Problem is my non-HDCP 2.2 compliant home theater system. Piece of shit.

Do your TV and Receiver both support HDCP 2.2? If not, no 4K content will show as available within Netflix. I have the same issue, and use a HDMI switch that shows HDCP 2.2 support to the box, even though my TV does not support it.

I had exactly the same issue - setting the resolution to 4k2k 60hz worked for me. Only the 60hz worked - all the other did not show the Ultra4k tag in netflix

make sure you enable 4k settings in the MI BOX display settings - it has to be set to 4k 30hz or 4k 60hz

I have the same problem. Mi Box is set to 4K 60hz and I have Netflix 4K subscription.

Netflix does not show 4K content, but it did show and play 4K content at least once.

I tried playing with all the settings, but I could get Netflix to work with 4K.

Sounds like a problem with your home theater system.

I'm having issues with Netflix and 4K. My TV is HDCP 2.2 compliant. I have a Netfix 4K subscription. The 4K section shows up in the Netflix menu put when I choose a movie, it only displays HD in the specs of the movie. I also have Netflix built into the TV, when I play it there it says ULTRA HD 4K.

4k running fine here however it causes audio lag in live channels. 4k content however is fine in Netflix and youtube

I find the Netflix app to be pretty much unusable 4k video shows with black bars on the sides and every once in a while the videos will give me an error saying they can't play this video at this time and once that happens every video has it and I have to reinstall Netflix.

You mentioned your home theater system being at fault for not supporting HDCP2.2, does it and your TV support HDMI-ARC?

I made a call to the Netflix customer service. Regarding their 4K streaming experience, Make sure you get:

  1. $9.99 plan or 4K Ultra plan
  2. Internet speed greater than 5.9MB
  3. Make sure both the content and devices are support 4K play(Screen could display 4K)
