Hey all. So I posted earlier this week about some controller woes, and I did some more testing but my results are pretty bad.
I have a handful of controllers and emulators, and so far I haven't found a great combination. For emulators, I've tried nes.emu and snes9x, and I tried to try RetroArch without success.
For controllers, I tried the Nyko Pad Pro, the 8-bitty, and a dualshock 4. The DS4 was a non-starter, it wouldn't pair and it doesn't recognize when connected by USB. The Nyko Pad works well in games (tried Pew Pew), but the lag in NES.emu and snes9x was terrible. The 8-bitty uses the iCade protocol and works better in those two emus, but didn't work with anything else.
As for RetroArch, it would not function correctly with the Nyko Pad, some shoulder buttons were the only things I could navigate with, the left stick and dpad didn't function at all, and I couldn't get to the settings. It also wouldn't respond to the Mi Box remote.
So... Does anyone have any suggestions here? Has anyone gotten RetroArch to function correctly? What controller did you use? Wired or wireless? Thanks very much for any help.
Have you been able to configure Retroarch itself? It doesn't respond to any input, and tells me the Xiaomi Remote is not configured. I also have a Gamesir G4s and it tells me that is not configured also, so I can't even move the selection cursor to select any options.
I even plugged in a mouse and keyboard, and the keyboard was able to move the selector but pressing enter (or clicking with the mouse) did nothing. I gave up and downloaded individual emulators but I would like to give Retroarch a shot if anyone knows how to fix this problem.
