It seems as thought the Google Music app on Android TV (Shield TV) is missing a bunch of stuff I love...
Looks like it just pulls my music, but there's no way to play channels...Like all of the stuff that's available on the web player.
Also, a bunch of my music is missing...
Any thoughts? Or is that how the app works?
You can always cast from a full featured implementation on your phone.
Yeah, Google Play Music hasn't been updated on Android TV to match it's web/mobile counterparts. There used to be a Songza app, which is the service Google bought to provide 'channels', but I'm not sure if it's still available to download.
Mine lets me access the channels (I.e. "it's Sunday night, play music for X.) Make sure you're on the latest version?
Mine has everything the phone app has, what version is yours?
Doesn't even have thumbs up playlist. It's Google once again getting bored and abandoning services.
Nah,its barebones. It had parity with real Play Music at one point, but they just haven't kept up
