Canada Android TV

by DomeBC

I'm in Canada and looking to jump into Android TV. The biggest things for me is sports, TV, 4K and great audio pass through. Games aren't a priority but nice if they're available as well as Netflix.

Any good economical easy to use suggestions are greatly appreciated.

It's not clear if you are asking about apps or devices. For devices there is nothing really Canada-specific and most comparisons between different devices would apply. My favourite is the NVIDIA SHIELD but the Nexus Player is the only one I know of that is on 7.0. Mind you that should come to SHIELD really soon and it is a much more powerful (and expensive) device. I haven't seen the Mi Box in Canada yet.

For apps there are only two that provide Canada-specific content that I am aware of i.e. the CBC News app and PuppetMaster.TV with the REKODI repo provides CBC shows as well as ICI Tou.tv for French as well as other foreign content.

Hope it's helpful.

you won't find a nexus player around. stock has dried up on them. it's too bad, as it's a decent device. kodi works great, youtube, vevo, netflix are all there. wish i had snagged the controller when i had the chance. after the 7.0 update crackle stopped working. put a trouble ticket in with them which they've simply ignored.
