Mi Box 4k widescreen issues

by blerb795

Hey all, been using the Mi Box for a week and everything seems to work great on my 4k TV (Mi Box is set to "4k2k-smpte", which was auto selected. Not sure if that's better/worse than the 4k2k-60hz, which my TV should support)

Anyhow, everything works fine until I actually view 4k source content--then I get a weird widescreen issue where I have vertical black bars 1-2 inches wide on either side. Happens on both Netflix and YouTube. If it's 1080p, it fills the screen perfectly, but as soon as I switch to something 4k I get the bars.

Any ideas?

I literally had the same problem in Netflix and realized somehow in my profile for the specific user I was using the quality was set to medium which cause the black bars on the sides.

Well for one switch to 4k2k-60hz, in terms of the letterboxing I wouldn't know.
