Ever since getting the Mi Box it will randomly cut out. The screen will flash black for a second, media will pause and then the screen comes back and I can hit play and things are normal again(until it decides to cut out again). Has anyone else noticed this? I've got the Mi Box set to 4k60hz, I've tried switching out the cable. It's plugged directly into my TV(using toslink back to receiver for audio).
It sounds like a handshaking problem. It could be due to the TV not fully supporting HDCP 2.2 (or doing it badly). Check with the manufacturer to make sure.
I bought a receiver that didn't have HDCP 2.2 at all and did this frequently until I returned it. It advertised 4K passthrough compatibility, but without HDCP 2.2 it was useless.
