Do Live Channels only work if you have cable?

What ever happened to that TV tuner Google talked about at I/O? I use Sling on my Shield but I'd love to pull OTA channels without buying an expensive as hell HDHomeRun.

No. You can use apps like Pluto TV which add internet based channels.

There is an outfit on Ebay selling a tuner and software that works with any AndroidTV (maybe not Razer Forge).
