What's the best way to set up a kid's account for YouTube? (On Android TV)

by SmallChildArsonist

I have a Sony Bravia 2015, and I have MY Google account associated with the TV. As I understand it, I can only have one account.

But my kids love to watch YouTube. I generally keep it signed out, so they're not messing with my suggested videos and subscriptions. They can use it in this way and it's limited to kids content, so they stay out of trouble for the most part.

But I'd like to give them the ability to subscribe to channels and whatnot. Is there a way to do this? I tried adding them as a channel under my account, but I didn't see any way to limit content from a Channel perspective.

Any ideas?

Create a sub account from your main account & link it, this is what I did for my son. He's got his own subscriptions etc

I know there's a YouTube Kids app on the Play Store. Not sure if it's Android TV compatible, but you could try that, or at worst, side load.
