YouTube 60fps issues

by Tritonal1

I have a new Mi box and it is struggling with 60fps youtube videos. When playing 1080 or even 720 content that's 60fps I'll get a second or 2 stutter of both video and audio. It happens very frequently during the videos. Is there a way to disable that in YouTube? I'm tired of having to lower the content to 480.

Ive returned the box and got a new one thinking it was a hardware issue but same, I've reset to default, uninstalled youtube updates even played with some of the developers settings but same issue.

Same here, support told me they are working to include a fix within the next update.

Sorry this won't be the most useful comment, but I can confirm that I have this issue as well. I watch a lot of Giant Bomb content and I think that's the only time I have really noticed this. Luckily in my case I am able to use the Plex plugin or cast the videos from a dedicated Giant Bomb app to watch them, but Youtube would be convenient. The fact that I am able to watch the same videos from other sources at least indicates that the hardware is not the issue here.

I keep hoping that this and a few other bugs/annoyanced are fixed in 7.0, which will hopefully be soon.

I've had this happen in the YouTube app so much with 60fps videos, but I found a workaround to stop the stuttering until they release an actual fix, is to set the box to 1080p50 instead of 1080p60, at least it solved it for me and a few other people I've seen mention this.

Happens to me in the youtube tv app also, but casting youtube doesnt have this issue(and they fixed the a/v sync issues with casting too) so you can try that as a work around until the app gets updated.
