Live Channels Updated, Supports USB Tuners and Adds DVR Capabilities!

So, in layman's terms, once Nvidia updates the Shield I can just buy one of these tested USB tuners, plug it in, download live channels and I'm good to go with OTA channels to the point where I can ditch my antenna? Are there range/frequency band limitations? Will it sometimes have spotty reception like an antenna?

I apologize for my ignorance, but this stuff is all very new to me.

My main reason looking forward to 7.0 and this update is not having to switch TV inputs between antenna and the Xiaomi Mi Box I just bought. I have the Hauppage Xbox One tuner sitting in my drawer for months unused. The tuner doesn't work well with my Windows 10 PC (Hauppauge app is terrible), so hopefully the tuner will play well with Mi Box when it gets 7.0

This solution will be easier for the non-techie people in my household to use..not having to use two remotes and switching inputs.

Note this works only in North America.

So... what about the rest of the world?

Will this thing here work as well then? https://www.amazon.de/Xbox-One-Digital-TV-Tuner/dp/B00E97HVJI

After all it's connected via USB as well.

I want support for IPTV/M3U lists 😕

maybe im being an idiot but the tuners they list look like theyre big enough that they'll block one of the USB ports on the back of the shield when it's plugged in..does anyone have one already? am I way off base?

And here I am still waiting for Marshmallow on my Sony TV. It's expected this month, but I don't know if we'll ever get nougat. Would be awesome to have that DVR functionality.

I have a Satellite cable connected to the dish, can I use it with these tuners?
