Is there a way to get the TWC app running on an Android TV?

by GetWet28

I'm just needing to know if there's a way to run the TWC app. I'm looking at buying a Mi Box for this, but everything I find on the subreddit regarding the TWC app is more than a year old.

I haven't tried side loading twc but I've just downloaded the apps for my favorite channels and use my twc login. Works fine.

I ended up getting a roku for the same issue. Mostly read about SD for Amazon if side loaded or unable to get HD on TWC. While I would prefer getting the mi box, roku was a simpler choice

Yes, it works but it requires jumping through a few hoops:

First, you have to sideload the latest app, this was tested on the latest version of the TWC app (4.7.0.19706 from apkpure.com). Next, you need to use HALauncher (or a similar launcher) to launch the TWC app with locked horizontal orientation (look in the HALauncher settings and turn that option on). Finally, you will need a mouse to navigate the app.

In previous versions of this app, a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse would NOT work. This is because once video playback is started, your Bluetooth device will eventually enter its power-save mode and send a disconnect message to the Nexus Player. This causes the TWC app to exit playback and drop back to the Main Menu. It works fine if you have a regular USB mouse, because once playback is started, the mouse stays connected to the Nexus Player.

Hope this helps.

Have you guys tried installing this modified version of the TWC app? I wonder if it works on the Mibox http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176334
