Sony XBR55x850d Crashing at Home Screen

by Proxice

So as the title says, the TV keeps rebooting when I go onto the Home Screen. Won't let me launch any apps without the TV crashing.

Just started today 11/10/16.

I have tried power reset. I can't do a factory reset because the TV crashes before I can get to the option. I updated the firmware recently (like less than 2-3 weeks ago).

It doesn't crash/reboot unless I enter the home screen.

Anybody else experiencing similar issues?

Update 11/11/16: So it turns out that the TV isn't only rebooting when entering the home screen. It reboots even when on a normal hdmi input.

I've had ours set to hdmi 3 (Roku) and then had it suddenly quit and go to the hone screen. So far, it's done it a couple times over the past couple days.

This started happening to me yesterday with my XBR-65X850D. However, I was still able to use a normal HDMI input or cast for as long as I wanted. It was as soon as I started any Android app/home screen process that everything would start going terribly slow and finally restart. I eventually found this post and it let me successfully do a factory reset. After the factory reset and signing in to all the apps again, everything has been working like normal. I'm not sure if it will work for anyone else, I may have just gotten lucky.

I did have this happen to me once last night. It's been fine today however. Same TV
