I purchased the xbox one tuner for my nexus player and it seems only 9 digital channels were picked up by the live channel app. When I plug the coax into my tv I get about 60 channels and most of those a analog. Ideas?

Have you tried the antenna that came with the usb tuner? There could be more channels with a regular antennas
What is the source you are connecting? Antenna or cable?
The Xbox One tuner is an ATSC tuner and will only pickup Digital over-the-air channels.
