I'm in the same boat. I think my sister is heading to the States to visit a friend next month so I may get her to pick up a couple of Mi boxes.
I ordered a mi box off ebay Canada.
I'm at work otherwise I would link if you still need it, but you can find legit resellers that have a buy it now option and you can just get it.
I'm hoping that black friday brings some love up here.

You want the shield. Look to buy it from the US on black friday/cyber monday. Last year B&H had them for somewhere around 129USD so after all was said and done it was <200CAD to my doorstep.
Ordered 4 from Walmart.com (3 for me, one for my brother) to my dad's FL house and he brought them home last night. Don't have them yet, but will be getting them from him tomorrow. :)

We are pretty much SOL right now until the MiBox comes out here or the Shield restocks.
Personally I ended up buying a used Nexus Player, and while I love it, I really want a bit more oomph. Unfortunately I waited too long and the Shield stopped selling.
