I found out online that you can backup your fire tv stick apps using ES File Explorer, and then sending it to your other devices.
I tried doing that with my fire stick, since I also wanted the easier to use Music app, and transferred the apk to my shield TV.
However, it won't install. It'll give the message "This app isn't compatible with your phone"
Sorry that I couldn't provide a solution, but at least we know that method won't work.
Until someone can modify the apk or something, we're better off using the touchscreen version for now.
