AndroidTV Devs: Designer looking to collaborate

by Hungryfarang

Hello all! I apologise if this is the wrong subreddit to post in.

I'm a UI/UX designer looking to collaborate on AndroidTV projects. If any developers have ideas they'd like to see come to light please PM me for portfolio info or just to bounce some ideas off :)

My preferred project would be an IPTV app that takes m3u8 lists and turns them into a delightful EPG. But i'm also open to working on other projects.

I'm not looking for paid work here! Looking to create fun + useful tools for the community and users that solve our big screen issues. Free + paid versions of apps are something i'd be interested in, regardless, it's not really about money for me.

does m3u8 list include EPG information?

Go apply to work for sling and bring their system into Live Channels app.

I would be interested if you fancied a project, i currently have my own android app but pretty sure we could throw some ideas into the hat.

If interested message me. Thanks

Not an Android dev but please do this. It's the thing I can't believe Live Channels doesn't support. I want to use it with legit IPTV channels from my provider (Movistar+). There are things like Cumulus that sort-of enable it but they have no guide without an xmltv source, which is another huge can of worms. As I understand there is a protocol used by operators for providing EPG info over multicast or something, but then everything got fuzzy and my head started hurting.

Anyway, would pay gladly.

CumulusTV does support IPTV somewhat well. It's an ongoing project in which I'm learning a lot.

I'm also building various Android TV apps under the GitHub organization ITV Lab. Already a few are in the Play Store, and the open source nature of it allows for many collaborators.

If you want we can chat some more about ideas on my list and you can see what would be useful.
