Big fan of Android TV, just wanted to say I am disappointed of the black Friday advertising for Android TV. Every other platform had a bunch of sales heavily advertised. I bet they sold millions. Hopefully a few MiBox were sold at Walmart, unfortunately the Shield was almost impossible to find other than Best Buy online only and Nvidia site (which hardly any average customers would be aware of).
To give a little more perspective on this, I believe that Nvidia put more effort into keeping their hold on the video card market. And I doubt that they would put that much advertising resources into something that they don't have the production output for at the moment. I can see them focusing on working on whatever possible Shield TV follow-up they have in the works. I don't see them releasing anything on it until Q2 next year, giving the Shield TV a 2 year life cycle.
That's just some external speculation on the situation.
