So here's the deal, and the weird situation I'm in right now.
I have an XBox One and my PC routing audio through my TV to my external speakers through a 3.5mm jack. I have my Shield TV routing audio through a USB DAC to those same external speakers.
When I want to use one or the other I have to unplug and replug the 3.5mm Jack from my TV to my Shield, and it's incredibly annoying.
I recently bought a reverse splitter, 2 male 3.5mm to 1 female, and for the most part it works. But it still tries to route audio through HDMI and it lowers the sound of my Shield TV. I've been trying to find a way to disable HDMI audio on the Shield TV but I can't find anything on it, or any setting.
Does anyone know of any other possible configuration for this to work? Thanks in advance!
I think I may be missing something about your setup. Why are you using the USB DAC? Can't you just use the HDMI audio through your TV to those same speakers without involving that piece?
