Any appLocks out there yet?

Is anybody even in the midst of developing some sort of AppLock?

Yes, AndroidTV has the Restricted Profile feature, but there are a couple of problems I have with it:
A) I have to leave it in the Restricted Profile perpetually, and make sure that if I go to the Master profile, that I remember to enter the restricted profile again. There is no automatic timer feature that automatically logs back into the Restricted Profile after a period of idle time.
B) I have to log our of the Restricted Profile into the Master profile in order to use apps that I have restricted. It would be much easier to be able to access the apps from the Restricted Profile with a PIN (hence the need for an AppLock). And then not being required to use the PIN for a period of time, then the PIN is "activated" again (kind of like AppLock by SpSoft: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sp.protector.free&hl=en it's simply fantastic and I use it for my phone).
C) When I log into the Master Profile, the PIN shows right on the TV. Like, all four numbers... in plain sight. Not good.

That is why I am hoping for a solution to all this and I think an AppLock is the answer.

I am currently following tutorials on learning Android development. I don't know Java at all. I understand the basic concepts of how some of this works, but very amateur.

I would be willing to pay for an app, but none exist to my knowledge. I have tried sideloading several apps that were clearly made for phones, but they don't work. The permissions system on AndroidTV is clearly different. Plus, it would be nice to have an intuitive AndroidTV interface.

If anybody knows of an app that would help me, it would be greatly appreciated if you could point me in the right direction. I am very busy with homeschooling young children, so I would like to skip all this development learning stuff, if possible (at least, right now... I think it would be a valuable skill in the future).

I dont need this, but it seems like a perfectly reasonable request.

Kids will always be kids, and try to do what they are forbidden.

Nothing wrong with trying to parent well.

The thing you'd probably need to do is generate some sort of app that acts as a homescreen. It'd have to intercept user commands and make sure they stay within the interface until there's a reasonable exit command.
