What's the best app for IPTV?

by abadguy87

I have a m3u with some channels and I gave Kodi a try after reading about it everywhere. Honestly, I think it's a bit of a overkill for my use especially considering how heavy on the RAM the app seems to be. On my pc it runs perfectly but when trying it on my Sony X800D the app sometimes is very laggy especially when you start browsing hundreds of channels. Then I tried the app called "IPTV" and it's much better, just something stripped to the core for loading channels and the EPG seems to work fine. What apps do you use or do you suggest I should try?

If you have android tv, try cumulus tv. They'll load in the android channels apps. Try it out

I use Perfect Player on mine, it's fast and stable. I tried Cumulus TV, because I liked the idea of integration with Live Channels, but it was totally buggy on my Mi Box and kept crashing.

I haven't tried it, but Perfect Player also supports running a server to load and filter your playlists, which might be useful to you.

PuppetMaster.TV has a repo called SCRAPEY which has an addon called #Pastey which reads M3U playlists from Pastebin.com and let's you watch them in-app or expose them to the Live Channels app.
