So Plexbmc will require a skin that is "compatible" with it. No clue how well those are maintained anymore. PlexKodiConnect is a clone of Emby for Kodi. The way it works is that it directly writes to the database the information it receives from your server. The caveat to this is that you're not supposed to use Kodi for library management at all. You'll end up with duplicates, and there isn't really a clean way to remove the Emby/Plex stuff (at least last I used it). The big upside to these addons is that they give a truly integrated experience. You can use any skin and browse your library as if Kodi had scanned and added everything itself.
Unless there's someone else is doing releases, plexbmc hasn't had a new one from hippojay in over a year.
I'm a fan of Plexkodiconnect but just wiped SPMC on the MiBox to go with the new Plex addon. It does everything I need from my Plex server without the need to take up so much disc space for the Kodi database. I'll give it a couple of weeks to see it I miss the Kodi interface part.
You might want to try the official addon: https://www.plex.tv/blog/plex-media-player-now-ambidextrous-free-kodi-said/
My guess is that unless they screw something up, the other two will likely get abandoned now that there is an official one.
It's officially for plex pass users only, but apparently if you just grab it from github it works even if you don't have plex pass.
