Mi Box's Google Cast Doesn't Play 60fps Videos at 60fps

by yongjiajun

So I just got my Mi Box (international variant - Android TV) and I just noticed that whenever I cast 60fps videos (YouTube/Twitch streams) from my devices, it only playbacks at 30fps or even lower.. Weird enough. Just wondering that am I the only one who's encountering this problem? If so, is there a solution to it? Thanks

Edit: The YouTube app plays 60fps videos just fine, but the built-in Google Cast doesn't. And I've also went to the developer options and switched to best frame rate instead of best resolution.

The problem is the googlecast api not a hardware

I've found a crazy amount of stutter attempting to play back Youtube 1080p/60fps content. Unfortunately, the youtube app doesn't seem to let me drop to 30fps, just lower resolutions.

Mine does this as well, very annoying.

weird I've got the opposite problem, the YouTube app doesn't play 60fps stuff smoothly but casting does?

edit: i fixed my 60fps problem by doing the dev option switch to best frame rate

Google Cast protocol can't reproduce 1080p60 only 720p60, except on the new Chromecast Ultra.

I think they could enable it on the Mi Box, but as far as I know the haven't done any movement.
