I just noticed Apple TV has nightshift as a feature and it is tempting me to switch to Apple though I prefer Google. I really would like this on Android TV. Is there any hope of this coming to Android TV? Has anyone found a good workaround? I tried rooting / install CF Lumen a while ago but it was very buggy rooting my NVIDIA Shield TV.
There is an app in the Play Store for AndroidTV that does this. I'll try to come up with the name.

My Sony Android TV with the play Store has twilight. I use it basically 24/7. It filters the entire TV, no matter the app. It's great.
Thanks guys! I use Twilight on my work phone that I cannot root also, and it is an OK solution but because it is just a screen overlay not a lower level removal of blue colors like Flux / Redshift / Nightshift, the results are rather ugly on a big screen TV. I hope Google releases the same feature to Android TV some day... I may have to attempt root again so I can use CF.Lumen.. hopefully it doesn't still break Netflix DRM =/
I only have it installed on my phone but Twilight says it's compatible with all my Android TV devices.
