I only have 3 requests:
Also a controllers (without touch sensitive buttons) would be nice, but that wouldn't need a refresh. They can release those any time.
Quick breakdown:
according an anonymous industry source.
NVIDIA is also expected to mention 4K content integration and support. This should bring support for ultra high definition Google Play Movies releases to the platform, along with other 4K streaming services from the likes of Netflix and Amazon Video.
The company also looks to be making some important changes to its SHIELD Controller. WiFi Direct connectivity looks set to be replaced by Bluetooth Low Energy, and this change may be applied to the SHIELD Remote too.
Some bold claims and what I consider to be a shaky source. CES isn't far away though so we'll see soon!
It's a great box and it already has 4K. The biggest improvements they could make are to improve stability and make game stream work flawlessly. Game stream currently acts like its a beta. But going even further, they could put a far ore powerful vid card. Like a 1050.
Soooooooo this is like, what, the 5th time at least a 2nd gen SHIELD has been said to be incoming. I guess if you keep saying it enough, eventually you'll be right :P
Was never a fan of the controller when using the device as a TV box. I've switched to a harmony hub remote and never had to replace or charge the battery since. Only need one hand too!
They already announced the updated Nvidia Shield, it's the Nintendo Switch... Seriously though if there is an Nvidia Android TV box coming with either Tegra P1 or Xavier then it's great news... you know, unless you're Nintendo.
For those who chose this device as their Plex Media Server, good luck easily migrating.
Another box that developers will forget about.
Why is half of the article dedicated to 4k when the current Shield TV already supports 4k?
