Best way to share a drive plugged to a Mi Box?

I used to copy downloaded movies and TV episodes to a USB drive attached to my WDTV Live, which I just ditched for the Mi Box.

Now I got that same drive, formatted to ExFat, plugged to the Mi Box and working great with Kodi. I can't, however, share it over the network with my Mac. Is there a way to do this?

How did you get kodi to recognize your usb drive? I've formatted mine in fat32 and exfat and it doesn't show up anywhere in kodi It's recognized as storage on the mibox tho...
