All just picked up the Mi Box and configuring kodi. Gets tiring typing using the mi remote. Would like to invest in a remote with keypad.
Does any keypad remote work? Any recommendations? I saw someone say the Rii i8?

The remote app on my phone works great for the keyboard.
if you want an app solution for your phone/tablet, android tv remote by google seems to work about 75% of the time. i don't know if the other 25% is bad coding or bad bluetooth connection or other.
has a d pad interface, a touchpad interface, and you can bring up a keyboard.
I have the same problem, with the Rii i8+ bluetooth version and the mi box mdz-16-ab. The Rii is discoverable, but mi box says "couldn't pair" Anybody know why??? I did manage to pair this remote with a amazon fire stick. It works, but the touch pad is very laggy, but works!
You can get a wireless one and plug the receiver into the USB port on the mibox
