Not too long ago I made a post about the beta of our app. We've responded to all the great feedback and now we're finally live in the play store.
It's been about 6 months in the making with pretty limited resources but we managed to pull our app together. It's something we're all very proud of and we tried to not half-ass yet another app on the Android TV app store.
We wanted to put together an experience that has the look and feel of Android TV but with a little more flair. You can find it in the Play Store on your Android TV or you can install it straight from your browser by going to the link above and clicking "Install" or "Installed" and selecting your TV device.
Some more info about the app if you're interested: Our designer on the project came up with this concept of "blooming" of the information cards. The cards animate with additional lines of info as you get closer to selecting them. We'd love to know how you feel about it.
I also highly recommend creating an account (which is totally free) since a lot of the best features of the app require being logged in. To get you started, I recommend checking out some of these awesome channels!
- "Best Staff Picks of 2016" - This is a good look at the "voice" of Vimeo
- Good for just putting on the tv in the background
- Another good one for ambiance
- Sweet short films
- All the top videos that have been posted to Reddit
- 4K Sports
- 4K Cinematic Videos
Thanks!
P.S. We've got tons of other cool features we're planning to add over the next year so hang tight for more cool stuff. We'd also love any and all feedback as regards to bugs, features you want, or things you think we're doing right.
Thanks for supporting Android TV! Layout looks great and everything with the app works really well. Great job!
Is there a way to see what quality I'm streaming? On a Shield TV (wired/1Gbps connection) and all videos I've tested look like 720.
Thanks again!
