Beelink Mini MXIII II custom firmware?

by shaga85

Hey guys i bought this box today and im not really loving it, is there a way to install a real Android Tv OS instead of the pure android?

Thanks!

There really isn't. Somebody might eventually cobble together something, but do yourself a favor, return that POS, and get yourself a MiBox instead.

Nope, you can't just flash the official Android TV OS onto some cheap Chinese box. Otherwise they would already come loaded with that instead of an OS designed for touchscreens.

Anyone can download and modify an AOSP build and slap together components to create an "Android box". To make an actual Android TV device, you have to work with Google to make sure it's up to their standards.

You can't get Android Tv Os on It, you can get the TV Version of youtube installed and the TV Launcher (Suggestion are not working) by using CetusPlay, but not really the complete Android tv Os. If you want to get a decent tv box to run principally Kodi, you can try to flash Libreelec on it, it's a complete linux distribution ported to beelink and other tv boxes, with Only Kodi interface on it (Which run very smooth!)

Or you can get the MiBox as CusvisTheConqueror suggested!

Having owned a cheap Chinese box previously (the MXIII-G) and now the Mi Box, I can assure you that those generic boxes are shit. Sell it, or return it, and get the Mi Box. If you're not from the States, get it from Aliexpress. Totally worth the money!

The MiBox is DOPE!

I've found this workaround yesterday: http://freaktab.com/forum/development-area/rom-hacks-and-mods-development/602279-tutorial-the-ultimate-android-tv-experience-in-r-box-pro-h96-pro I've tried it on my MXIII-G Plus, it's working well but don't expect it to be the same as on an Mibox or another dedicated Android TV device, coz you still get the same version of the box but only with some esthetic! If you can't sell it or return it, it might be a good alternative or wipe out the android version and go fully linux and Kodi with Libreelec.
