Can't wait to see the pricing.
Currently use a Shield as my main device, but running a Nexus Player on another TV. I'm definitely going to be upgrading to this Shield if the price is right.
My wife bought a Mi Box for me to try out. Looks like I'm returning that tomorrow. It was worth a shot since finding a second Shield TV is hard right now but the playback on the Mi Box is terrible in Kodi (no refresh rate switching, really?).
That controller looks awful. And I wish they would add play/pause as well as FF/RW to the remote. It would be perfect then.
Nvidia is bae.
Awesome! I'll be retiring my nearly useless (except for Kodi) Forge TV and buying one of these.
What would you want the different sizes to represent?
How is Nvidia with backporting new features to older devices? Obviously we have no Android TV precedent, but what about their tablets? Have they been kept up to date?
Maybe it's just one size box, but an extra big version of the controllers.
Looking forward to this. Love my current old Shield TV. I'm hoping they didn't eliminate the headphone jack on the remote control. I love that feature simply because it allows me to use my headphones at night to watch movies or shows without bothering others in the house, especially when my kids are asleep at night. I fear with the addition of Bluetooth 4.1 that they might have gotten rid of that headphone jack. I just don't want to have to deal with needing to charge both a controller and bluetooth headphones. Hope that isn't the case.
Really hoping for Dolby Vision support on this one
Any idea when this will be available to purchase? I just discovered the Nvidia shield TV and Kodi with add-ons and was like head over heels about to cancel my cable and everything so I could save 100+ a month but I can't find them anywhere except eBay where everyone wants like 600 bucks ?!
hopefully the start, back, home, and mic buttons are tactile and not compacitive.
