That's great, hopefully it's on Android TV for all the guys who don't have the Shield. (or that it's at least sideloadable)
Because we can already use it perfectly including DD+ and Full HD. Only 4k doesn't work.
I wouldn't consider this a confirmation. Also when I go to the link on his post I don't see any Amazon icon.
About damn time
Probably with the Nougat update.
Well that's good to hear.. I've been wanting to give Amazon some money for a few of the add-on channels they offer, but felt a little hinky about doing it when I was running the video app on unsupported hardware.
Seems reasonable when they just expanded with 100+ countries.
Side loaded in the past but now it's on my new Samsung tv my shield has become the Plex server (as Plex is also on samsung) - I'm ok with this as I got the shield specifically for Plex. I am however very glad to see everyone who's been calling for Amazon on shield is going to get it :)
Took them long enough, sadly I sold mine already cause it lacked that for one of its reasons.
That would be great. Wouldn't have to use my TVs built in app for 4K then but could do everything on the shield :)
Sooner than later, I hope! I want to watch Man in the High Castle in 4k!
CES coverage by Verge claims NVidia has confirmed Amazon Instant Video support for the new Shield out of the box, and for existing Shields after a software update later this month:

Nvidia says the new Shield TV has three times the performance of any other streaming box on the market. It runs Android TV and has access to 4K content from Netflix, Google Play Movies, and Vudu. Nvidia has also added Amazon Video in 4K HDR — a rarity for Android TV boxes. Nvidia says that existing Shield TV devices will get the new one’s features through a software update delivered sometime in January.
Here's to hoping that it's not just on the Shield but on all Android TV devices!
