Network Streaming Apps

by Litterboxer1

Hi everyone, I have some questions about watching live TV through an android TV box. Many TV stations now have their own android apps which you can download on your phone or tablet to watch live streams of the content. For example, CNN, or Food network. Are all of these compatible with an android TV box as well? For example, the A and E app is not listed under the play store as a "Android TV" App, but it can stream live tv onto a phone (which then can be "cast" to a tv. If I got an android TV box, would I be able to take out the middleman of the phone and then having to "cast" it to the TV?

Thanks

Just about all of them are located in the Android tv Google play store.

Seems like you answered your own question while asking it. If there is an Android TV app in the play store, then yes, you can bypass the middleman, if there is not an Android TV app in the play store, then no, you will still need to use the casting method

The Food Network has an equivalent addon for PuppetMaster.TV as well as a bunch of other content providers with public domain videos on their websites.
