Mario Kart

by almosttan

Hi,

I'm curious if anyone has a good guide at how to get Mario Kart running on an Nvidia Shield TV? Didn't see anything available for purchase so I'm assuming it would be through an emulator but anything that is not a beast to set up would be greatly appreciated!

The best working Mario Kart is the one for N64.

It's quite easy to set up. I'm using Mupen64plus fz . You download the Mario Kart ROM, put on your Android TV or a USB drive and can start.

In addition the are Mario Karts for GameCube and Wii you can emulate with dolphin . But it's hard to set up and not working very well.

For specific questions I would head over to /r/emulationonandroid.

I play dolphin emulating wii Mario Kart on my PC and stream it to the shield.

You definitely can't buy any Mario Kart games for mobile. I would also suggest downloading Drastic which is a DS emulator. You can Mario Kart DS which came out 9 years after Mario Kart 64 and looks much better and is closer to a modern Mario Kart game. Although if your planning on playing local multiplayer than the N64 version would be best. And of course if you can get dolphin working Mario Kart Double Dash is a great Mario Kart game.

Using RetroArch, you can obtain an n64 emulator and play MK64.

Mario kart is nintendo's exclusive game. Thats why you didnt see anything available for purchase. And no, dont try to download rom illegaly like someone in here suggested you. Its piracy. Dont do that. I you really want it, buy a 3DS, or 2DS instead. I heard they are cheap.
