Have a Shield TV, just thought I'd sideload the latest HBO Go APK because I had Xfinity, and Android TV isn't supported on the official HBO Go app.
I could log-in no problem on the mobile app, but what surprised me was that it bitstreams DD5.1+ content. Definitely is HD. As usual you need a mouse to navigate, but it works.
You actually don't even need to sideload. Just open the apps store page in a browser and select your shield as the device to install on. It should automatically update like any other app.
Is the Xfinity part new? I tried side-loading this when I got my shield but I couldn't log in
Android TV or a the cheap Chinese versions? I've had HBO go on my devices since last year at the very least.
Cool! Also, fuck Comcast. This is precisely why I switched to HBO Now.
