Upgraded to Marshmallow, lost access to USB storage

by koji00

I upgraded my Sony Bravia 2015 4K to Marshmallow, and now Mame4Droid can no longer find the USB thumbdrive that I use to hold my ROMs. It used to be browseable under /storage/sda but now /storage only contains "emulated" and "self", both of which are empty.

Does anyone know what path represents USB storage in Marshmallow?

I found the problem! My USB drive was formatted as exFAT, which is now completely broken on Marshmallow (WTF?!??!?)

I reformatted as crappy FAT32 and I was able to browse it at /storage/<weird identifier>, but being that it's FAT32 it took like 5 minutes for all of my ROMs to scan. I hope Sony fixes this soon!

When did you get the marshmallow update? Got the same range of TV, so I can check once I get the update

Probably the mount point has changed....or you need to configure your usb stick in setting as external storage

You may need to go to settings>apps>Mame4Droid and look at the permissions. Be sure the app has permission to access storage.

I noticed this as well. Weirdly, an external hard drive I have that did not work before now does. They switched places.
