My apologies if this has been answered already. I've been looking for a while and got no idea of when it may get the update. Anybody have any idea?

Everyone wishes we already have it, but we don't. They keep saying it's coming...
MiBox Android TV ver for the international market is not something major to Xiaomi and I don't think it is of their interest to put a lot of effort into this. Honestly I don't think they care much about the US market. Personally I don't expect it even though I have a >50% guess that there will eventually be nougat update. Just as a surprise some day.
They better get it out. According to their blog they said the ext storage issues and HDR fix will happen when nougat is out.
I thought I read that Google was actually responsible for pushing this update to the Mi Box since its an officially supported Android TV device... Is Android TV 7.0 out for any device other than the Nexus Player?? Google is dropping the ball as much as Xiaomi is on this one.
That sucks.
Somebody here said the Xiaomi tweeted, "early first quarter 2017". Can't be soon enough, the box has a lot of potential, but it is underwhelming as-is.
I tried to contact their support chat for some information regarding 7.0 and unsurprisingly I got nowhere with them. "Xiaomi has not announced the Android 7.0 update. Once it will be available, we will be providing you the appropriate information." I'm not sure if there is any way to get in touch with someone from a team that would know.
Nope.
I'd imagine it will arrive within a few months. Mi Box came aggressively into the this market with with 2 huge US partners because they want to expand outside of just China.
I'm more concerned with whether Google wants in this market before they lose out. Their launcher seems half assed (no wallpaper, no groups, no easy shut down of apps, and worse of all the 2 rows with infinite columns going way off screen. What the hell where they thinking with that?)
Also the Playstore needs to be finished. No wishlist access (but you can add to the wishlist) and it doesn't show all the apps available. You have to know the name and search it.
And finally they need to lure in developers.
Their only saving grace when it comes to the streaming market is that only Apple will be ahead of them and that Roku is going to be another BlackBerry and will be gone or diminished in a few years (unless business strategy is turned around asap).
