An update to Youtube has nothing to do with the Nougat update. Youtube on Android TV hasn't been updated in 10 months. All versions of Youtube on other devices have been updated constantly in that time. So strange.
To answer the question about the NP: no, it still has the old barebones version with the rubbish VCR-like playback controls and inability to do simple things like add to Watch Later before actually viewing a vid, or removing playlists.
