Mi Box update breaks CEC?

by GldRush98

Has anyone else noticed that CEC is no longer functioning after the new update on their Mi Box?

It's worked flawlessly since I bought it to turn on the TV when the Mi Box turned on, or change the input to the Mi Box input if the TV was already one, but since the update it has stopped working for me.

Anyone else?

Can't speak for others, but in my case at least, it now only switches to the Mi Box input when I press the circle/home button. Which is kinda good because it doesn't do it with any button anymore, but weird that they wouldn't make it change with the power button instead.

It actually seemed to fix my CEC issue. I can leave the box on now and turn off my TV without it turning back on. I am still able to turn on the TV with the Android TV app, the Mi controller, or casting something to it. I am very happy with the update.

use the circle button instead

Behaviour has changed but it is 'better'for me... IE now changes to MiBox channel if I cast to it, doesn't auto turn over to MiBox when I turn on the TV.

ya i just pushed the power button on the mi remote a few times and the tv didn't turn on. had to find the tv remote.

Broke it very badly. The power button on remote used to wake and sleep the box along with my samsung TV. This was perfect for me as I have an external sound system that woke up with audio input sensed (HDMI to TV, then optical from TV to sound system).

Now the TV acts like the box is unplugged when power is hit on remote. If its off, everything stays off. I need to turn on TV and select the correct input. If the Mi box is on and power is hit on mi remote, CEC disconnects (get TV-side disconnection prompt) and then my TV defaults to cable in (which isn't even configured? why not stay on HDMI2??)

Short term solution TV remote and disabling the box from sleeping. I've read others had success with the circle/home button for power ups, so maybe i'll try that.

Mine seems to have improved in power and input control (as others have commented)

The navigation buttons on my TV remote also continue to work perfectly.

I have not yet seen any negative effects of this update yet (on my box) which is fantastic because the Netflix issues were driving me absolutely insane!

cec doesn't really work to well on any of my 4 miboxes with all different brands of tvs(Panasinic Samsung, Vizio, JVC). The mibox remote won't turn on or off the tv, forget about real volume control. It really ruins an otherwise solid product.
