Could anyone clarify how the IR works on the new Shield TV remote?
There are no new buttons, so how do you send a signal for, say, TV power on/off?
This is a big deal for me - Nvidia are on the cusp of giving me a 100% perfect media remote...

AFAIK the IR is just for volume control. You can configure to use that instead of CEC.
Upvoted and very interested. In fact, I am thinking about using this with a Nexus Player. If it can power on/off my TV then it's fantastic....
+1 Settings have an option to use remote for TV power, but how? I tried randomly pressing things... no luck.
I'm very interested in hearing how this works too.
