I dont think the tuner list has been updated since the announcement of nougat unfortunately, also i think they only work in america right now (ATSC, no DVB support yet)
Some articles have named the "Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD" as becoming the "default" for tuners, but no one here has mentioned it, also wouldnt know if the second tuner would work as there is only a hacked together driver for linux that only recognises a single tuner.
lastly the tablo live tuner has been announced.
More drivers and support will come later down the line, i think google is just doing a soft launch and collecting feedback
I picked up my tuner today, just waiting on the update to hit my device.
I ordered the Xbox one a week ago. Just waiting on the update.
I know the Hauppauge 955Q is supported, but has anyone tested it with a similar 950Q model? I'm planning on using my new SHIELD as an all-in-one box and would rather not have to shell out an additional 60$ for a model that's only slightly different to my current one.
EDIT: Can confirm 950Q doesn't appear in live channels. Probably going to order a Volar Hybrid Q
Thanks for the answers guys. I'll be Patient and wait however.
So I have the wintv-hvr-955q (I was using it on my Xbox). Today my shield arrived with nougat. It didn't bring up love channels. Added an app that would. Live channels doesn't recognize tuner. Tuner doesn't appear to power on. Do I have to have an external HD just to use the tuner? I understand needing it for DVR. Thoughts?
I've got a Hauppage 955Q that works on my Xbox One but not my Shield TV. Kind of not happy about that.
Edit, mine works on Nexus Player too, but not Nvidia Shield TV. This is dumb. They've got it so it doesn't even try to connect this device. I wonder if some kernel module hackery could be done to bring the module from a Nexus Player over to this.
I ordered the Xbox One tuner and am so excited to try this out. I haven't wanted to get a Tablo or TiVo Roamio so I've just been forcing my wife to watch her shows when they air. This will be a game changer if it works as well as I'm hoping.
If anyone tried this out I would love to hear your experience with it.
