Buying a Mi Box in Canada

by rsma11z

Hey guys. Got directed here from r/cordcutters. Looking at ordering a Mi Box, but live in Toronto and they're not selling them at Walmart here. Not overly technical, so having trouble assessing which online links are legit and the right model. Don't want to end up with a knockoff.

Any direction here, or links to buy the right item, would be awesome.

You can double check with Walmart's website, but the model number you are looking for is MDZ-16-AB. That's the US version with official Android TV.

It's a great device by the way. Much better than my 2016 Roku and personally zero issues with it.

I Live in Mississauga. I registered with crossborderpickups and got a US address through them, so i ordered from walmart.com (US site), had it shipped to CBP and they shipped it across, for an extra 20/25Cad. please note, you might want to pay extra to have the customs receipt shipped to you, in case you want to return. i took the cheap route and got a remote that wouldn't work, not a big problem though as i didn't really need it. i just downloaded the Mi remote on play store. all the best.

I bought two at a Walmart in Buffalo and both are working great so far.

In Ottawa - been using mine for <1 week - switched from FireTV stick. It's cool so far but there is a few issues I've experienced with casting but overall I'm a fan and will likely get a 2nd to have in another room and maybe one to travel with.

There is a thread on RedFlagDeals discussing the Mi Box and options for getting one in Canada.
