Help with HDHomeRun Prime

by spiderkid319

I just finished setting up a replacement for my cable box. I am using a HDHomeRun Prime that is connected through Ethernet to my router. My Nexus Player is right next to my router and connected through Wireless AC. I am having really bad lag issues on HD channels with the Live Channels and HDHR View apps.

Every few minutes, it will stall or pixelate. Sometimes it will just show a few green pixels and the audio will pause.

Has anyone else had these issues? How did you fix it?

USB OTG cable and a USB Ethernet adapter. Hardwiring the Android TV will solve your problem

I had the exact same issue forever and I had almost given up on it. Your issue may be different but my issue was with the coax cable. I had my antenna running to a splitter then to the HDHR. Turns out that when I plugged my antenna directly into the HDHR the pixelation and green blocks went away. It doesnt make any sense because I had a set top box that worked fine from the same coax cable. So I guess, check your coax cables.

Update your firmware and move to wired if you can. I did both of these and I haven't seen the green blockiness ever since... and I had it a lot with my HDHomeRun Prime.

I'm Having issues with my MiBox. The Audio is good but the video looks like its dropping frames. I don't know if its because my channels are DRM or this box can't handle it? What's the best transcoding settings in the HDHR View App?

Do you have the latest firmware etc? There is also beta firmware if you are an early access customer for the dvr product from silicondust

Speaking of HDHomeRun, any way to get the old version of HDHomeRun View that wasn't the Windows store version? I have a 40" monitor and like to run multiple instances (without VLC)

I had issues with both those apps, then I tried Kodi (great LiveTv interface IMO) and I also set up an Emby server. Both Kodi and Emby worked great for me. I run a Shield TV and a FireTv stick.

Interesting. It appears as though your Bandwidth is not good enough over AC WiFi, however I have used a Nexus Player over AC WiFI with no issue several rooms away. What router do you have?
