It looks like Sony Bravia TVs comes with a "USB-infrared transmitter" so that your TV can handle external cable-tv-boxes just like old Google-TV did, allowing users to change channels onto the AndroidTV TV guide (aka live channels). It is great, I am sad that my TV did not came with it since it is only 49 inch sized, and in Brazil, those models are missing this piece. I just replaced my LG WebOS TV for a Sony Android TV and it is great, I guess you will like it.
I have the 43 and I'm enjoying it so far. It's kinda sluggish tho. Seems like very few apps in the play store but the important ones like kodi are there. I have a portable hard drive with my movies and TV shows and can play them directly from the drive which is nice.
It's pretty sluggish, but it streams 4k movies (25+ GB) fine through Kodi wirelessly.
I am on my PC now, and can share a few more details. I got the 49x800d about a month ago, and love it. It is a bit touchy on some points, but a great TV experience.
A few more tips:
The first thing you should do is check out these awesome 4k channels on YouTube:
Abandon Visuals: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_vryjMWBZxYq9KS2LjfIZA
HDR Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCve7_yAZHFNipzeAGBI5t9g
Around the World 4K: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4F-DMVCe-UbIsweL6kIEfg
Note: for some dumb reason, you must select 4K resolution almost every time you load a 4K video on YouTube. To do so click a direction button on the remote to make the YouTube overlay come up. Then go down and right all the way to the little HQ symbol. Click on it and select the highest quality. 2160p is 4K.
The TV menu does get clunky now and then. I have found a restart fixes this every time. Pressing the power button on your remote only suspends the TV, much like turning the screen off on your phone. to fully restart you have to hold the power button on the TV down for a few seconds. Then turn it back on again. You can also go to settings, about, restart.
Advanced Contrast Enhancer is the setting I was referring to in my last post. To get to it, hit action menu, Picture adjustments, Advanced settings, Adv. contrast enhancer. I have mine set on medium.
Note that picture settings changes are specific for inputs and modes. So, you have change it for TV, each app, and each input. AND for each when it it is in HDR and not HDR. Don't be surprised when you get it all set and then try something new (like an HD Blue Ray, or HDR game) and it looks bad again. For example, I set it once for Amazon Prime when watching a regular show, and had to set it again when watching The Grand Tour, which is in HDR.
I highly recommend reading the sites below for a ton more info. Start with Rtings and go from there. Other than the Advanced Contrast Enhancer, their calibration settings are great.

Lastly, get a good universal remote because the one that comes with the TV is terrible.
I have one. I regret buying it. The Sony Android TV experience is buggy, sluggish (mediatek processor), and just not a good value. I wish I had gotten a cheaper TV and an nvidia shield.
That said, check this xda thread for tips to disabling the bloatware.

Avoid Arc at all costs.
The TV acts like a Chromecast Ultra so you don't need to spend any extra money there.
Hey just wondering did you order the TV from Sony? If you did how long no did it take? I order the 43" on Thursday night and it said it got dispatched on Friday, hopefully it gets here in time for horizon zero dawn :D
Search this thread foor instructions on how to debloat the home screen. Check rtings.com and avs-forrums.com for great tips including calibration settings. Change the HDMI input to enhanced if using an Xbox one S. Turn on enhanced contrast so 4k Blue Ray movies don't look washed out.
