Best Games for Android TV

by garethobrien

What are peoples favorite games for Android TV? Probably should post under 3 sections: Android Free, Android Paid, Nvidia Shield Exclusives (Either Android or GeForce Now)

Most of the Shield exclusive ones are pretty good: https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=7748882896084752769

Personally I'm very fond of the following:

This appears to be a pretty comprehensive overall list as well: https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_3000e24_androidtv_games_all?hl=en

I generally avoid free games, but I wouldn't be against something that is free to start with an IAP to continue. I won't touch anything that is pay to win.

Everyone's talking Shield here. What about best games for something like a sony android tv?

Steam is my favorite game. I was blown away to find out I had access to my entire steam library.

I played Doom 3 when it first came out on PC years ago, and bought it again now (when there was a sale) for my shield TV. It's pretty fun and runs smoothly.

I enjoy Space Marshals and Space Marshals 2. The Orange Pixel games are great. Goat Simulator comes to mind too.

Does anyone use GeForce Now? I want to try it out but I keep getting a store error when I try to sign up for the trial.

Another vote for Jackbox party pack. They are "expensive" but each $25 pack has 5 games in it, and im pretty sure each one of those games is worth $5.

These are multiplayer party games that folks participate in using the browser on their phone or tablet to play. Trivia, pictionary-style drawing game, taboo-style word games, etc.

One vote for the most disappointing game (so others don't make the same mistake as me):

NBA Jam.

It doesn't even support local 2 player. Such BS.
