The Youtube addon for Kodi is a bit of a mixed bag. If you have an Android device, just use the official Youtube addon and access it from within Kodi.

why use a clunky interface when you can use android tv apps ? i don't get it
kodi may be nice for crappy chinese android boxes but totally useless for Android TV
