All this doom and gloom around Xiaomi makes for a rocky future for the Mi Box here in America, especially when they're getting rid of the American "face" of Xiaomi. I just hope the company doesn't forget about the Mi Box while they dial back their efforts.
I feel like at the very least they must release one stable version of Nougat for the Mi Box. For one thing it's sold as a box that can do HDR and that's only possible with the promised update to 7.0.
I mean it says " *with future software update " on the box and on the promotional materials online with regards to HDR support. If they don't deliver on that promise what will happen? Well, absolutely nothing. They'll never make another ATV box and the reputation of the company's phone division for delivering timely updates won't take a hit at all. That's what makes me very pessimistic of the chances of it happening.

For those unaware, this guy was a major voice/face for the Mi Box. Hopefully Xiaomi will stay committed to the device but this is an unfortunate loss for Mi Box owners.
