Damn archaic regional restrictions. The service is available where I live, but I can't use the app because Nvidia doesn't have the rights to distribute it here? Does Amazon not want my money?
Anyone figured out how to get US content through the new Amazon Video app on the Shield if you are outside US (ie. Canada)?
Before this update, I was using the sideloaded Sony TV Amazon Video app on the Shield. It was limited to 1080p, but using a "smart dns" I was able to access and watch all the US content through it no problem.
However regardless of using a DNS to make it look like I am in the US, I can only access the VERY limited content for Canadians through the new app.
I guess I could go back to using the Sony TV's version, but it's limited to 1080p, whereas the new one fully supports 4K HDR.
As a work around turn off location services and set the language to English US.
