I am actually watching live stuff on Facebook in these strange days and it seems like a no-brainer to make it easy for Android TV users to put Live broadcasts up on a big screen.

If your phone is capable you can just cast your phone screen to it. Then anything you see on your phone will be on the tv. Just turn it sideways.
Actually I was surprised to see a cast icon in a FB video I watched, and it effortlessly went to the Shield once I clicked it. However I would be surprised if the same functionality were in the Live videos, and very much doubt comments would work as-is.
