[ShieldTV] Amazon Video app refuses to play videos

I'm at a loss here. I installed the 5.0.2 update, and Amazon Video didn't work. I got this error:

"Problem Occurred. We're unable to play your video at this time. Please try again in a few minutes or contact Amazon Customer Service at www.amazon.com/videohelp "

I figured this was because I previously sideloaded the Amazon Video app, so I did a full factory reset. Took no chances.

So I go into Amazon Video after the reset, do the code thing and sign in, and hey: same error when I play videos. I reboot the Shield and it still doesn't play. Googling the issue has gotten me nowhere. Any ideas?

EDIT: digging around more, I went to the My Devices page on Amazon, and the shield isn't listed there. I selected the deregister device option from the Amazon Video app and then attempted to use the code to add it again, but it still doesn't show. I'm guessing this is not a good thing.

You'll need to reboot after major changes like factory reset.

if you side-loaded the amazon app like I did then make sure you delete the side-loaded version and keep the new version that came with the update.

Also clear all cache/data and sign in again to the Amazon app.

Which version of amazon video do you have? I have exactly the same problem on my Mi Box

Same problem here with Shield TV. Netflix works good.
