Android box for old 4:3 TV

by greencorners

Hi all, Could you please suggest Android box that is suitable for old 4:3 TV and can output in native 4:3 resolution. I've bought T95n - it has AV out but it's output is still in 16:9 mode so the picture is vertically stretched.

Thanks !

Nope. None of them have analogue outputs.

It's 1000X easier to get yourself a real TV and not live in 1990...

These "Android TV boxes" you mention are NOT Android TV they are just cheap little Android running boxes. This is an Android TV subreddit not a knock off Android box subreddit.

instead of buying a box, buy a decent tv and there is no Android TV box with av out nor 4:3 support .

wake up it's 2016

Honestly the others are kinda right, it's 2017 and with a 4:3 TV your resolution is going to be 480i (or 576i if you're not american) and has been considered obsolete for over a decade now, 4K displays have 27 times the number of pixels as your current TV. The lack of digital interface is going to prevent you from watching shows with DRM or using any official Android TV device (they all use HDMI, sorry).

A Raspberry Pi 3 has an analogue output which you could try, there is an unofficial port of Android TV that runs on it although I'm not sure if you'll have the same problem.

My generic X96 box has an av out port probly could use a cheap av out cable the ones that have a headphone like plug and the white and and yellow plugs I haven't tried it tho I use hdmi
