Curious. What's the point of a touchscreen TV?

Is the idea a cheap commerical, interactive signage thing? I can see how that would be best but not sure the specific application the average person would use that for.

Bought this for a project and decided to test it on my android devices. It works out of the box on my 2017 Nvidia Shield. Does not work on my Nexus Player or ADT-1. I tried it with Lollirock too on the Nexus Player with no luck. If anyone could get that working that'd be great.
